Jennifer Lopez decide not to participate in opening ceremony of the World-2014
American pop superstar Jennifer Lopez did not participate in the opening ceremony of the World Cup in Brazil, as originally planned, said on Sunday FIFA, four days before the start of the tournament.
Lopez, who recorded the official song of FIFA, "We Are One" (We are one), with rapper Pitbull and singer Claudia Leitte Brazilian, should participate with them in the opening ceremony of the World Cup on last Thursday in Sao Paulo , but had to cancel, FIFA said in a statement."For production problems, Jennifer Lopez, one of the official artists of the song 'We Are One', may not participate in the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup," said the organization.
The 25-minute ceremony involved the performance of 600 artists including gymnasts, acrobats and dancers of capoeira, the Afro-Brazilian martial art-dance.The highlight was the song "We Are One", accompanied by Brazilian drum group Olodum, now without Lopez.Pitbull not allowed to withdraw their enthusiasm diminished Lopez.
"I Sing 'We Are One' to the world, especially in a country as beautiful as Brazil, will be fun. But more than that, show the world that music is a universal language," said the statement from FIFA.Lopez also missed the January event in which Leitte and Pitbull unveiled plans for the song with FIFA officials in Rio de Janeiro.
More than 60,000 people were attend the opening ceremony of the World Cup in the new Arena Corinthians stadium in Sao Paulo, before attending the first game: Brazil versus Croatia.
